Waldems, 28 August 2024 – plastship is pleased to announce a new partnership with HPF The Mineral Engineers. This collaboration aims to enhance the quality and functionality of plastic recyclates through the use of high-performance and highly specialised fillers and additives.
HPF: a strong partner
HPF The Mineral Engineers, a division of the Quarzwerke Group, develops and markets high-performance fillers and additives for polymer systems. These products are based on natural and synthetic minerals, providing polymers with remarkable functional and optical properties. The fillers are tailored for highly specialised applications and offer increased value.
TREMIN® 939 – improved technical properties
The advanced fillerTREMIN® 939 from HPF enhances the properties of both recyclates and virgin plastics. Advantages include high stiffness, good thermal properties, and excellent scratch resistance.

TREMIN® 939 is ideal for use in technically demanding components, offering benefits such as very good scratch resistance, high heat distortion resistance, high impact toughness, and excellent paint adhesion.
RESCOFIL® – effective odour optimisation
The newly developed filler RESCOFIL® significantly reduces unpleasant odours in plastic recyclates, which is particularly important for applications in vehicle interiors.

Olfactometric test results – unfilled recyclate vs. 5 wt.% high-performance filler.
Together for a sustainable future
Andreas Bastian, Managing Director of plastship, expresses his satisfaction: "Through our collaboration with HPF, we aim to further improve the quality of plastic recyclates. The specialised fillers and the odour-absorbing additive from HPF enable us to make recycled materials more attractive for a variety of applications, thereby advancing the circular economy."
Thorsten Hilgers from HPF emphasises: "Our product range not only improves the mechanical properties and odour profile of plastic recyclates but also enhances their processing through a surface coating optimally tailored to the polymer matrix. This aims to open up new possibilities for the use of recycled plastics in more demanding areas and actively support the circular economy."
The partnership between plastship and HPF is therefore a significant step towards promoting the circular economy and improving the quality of plastic recyclates.
