More quality, more transparency, more circularity – a review of PRSE 2025

From April 1 to 2, 2025, plastship presented practical solutions for promoting the circular economy at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE) in Amsterdam, alongside RIGK GmbH and Hannawald Plastik GmbH. Despite the current challenges in the recycling market, the mood at plastship was optimistic and solution-oriented.

Pragmatic solutions for a sustainable circular economy

At the plastship stand, several initiatives were highlighted that pave the way for a functioning circular economy:

Plastics Recycling Taskforce
We connect stakeholders in the plastic circular economy to promote the use of recyclates. As a provider of recycling solutions, partners benefit from our strong community and the plastship network.

Recycled Material Benchmark
Our evaluation system for recyclates creates transparency and enables informed decisions in material sourcing, improving quality and efficiency in the recycling process.

Digital recyclate sourcing
Our platform optimises the procurement of high-quality recycled materials, contributing to increased efficiency in the transition to a circular economy.

Material qualification and certification
Together with RIGK’s PlastCert department, we offer companies a standardised way to verify the quality of recyclates and meet all regulatory requirements.

Positive feedback and strong interest

PRSE 2025 confirmed the significant demand for innovative and transparent solutions. Our digital tools, which enable efficient material sourcing, and the Recycled Material Benchmark, which ensures greater transparency in material evaluation, were particularly sought after.

The positive feedback on our solutions and the strong interest in digital recyclate sourcing have shown that the industry is ready to take the next step towards a circular economy,

states Andreas Bastian, Managing Director of plastship.

Industry shows commitment despite uncertainties

Amid current economic uncertainties – from market challenges to complex regulatory requirements – the fair was a clear signal that the circular economy is much more than just a short-term trend. It became clear that it represents a long-term, macroeconomic task that must be addressed collectively by all stakeholders. The industry has recognised that the path to the circular economy is not only necessary but also a crucial foundation for future economic stability and sustainability.

Thanks and outlook

plastship would like to express its sincere thanks to all visitors of stand B18 – especially to our partners involved in the taskforce and the benchmark. The exchange at PRSE has provided us with new insights and shows that the willingness to implement a sustainable circular economy is strong.

We will continue to work on innovative solutions to accelerate the transition to a circular economy and support companies in making their recycling processes efficient and sustainable,

Bastian concluded.

Looking ahead: At FACHPACK in Nuremberg in September 2025, RIGK will present further solutions for a future-proof circular economy.
