What is EuCertPlast?

The EuCertPlast certification confirms a high quality standard of a recyclate manufacturer.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The EuCertPlast certification is currently in a transition phase and will soon be replaced by the RecyClass certification "RecyClass Recycling Process Certification".

What is EuCertPlast?

The European Certification of Plastic Recyclers (EuCertPlast) is a Europe-wide certification system for plastics recyclers that came into force in 2012 and was developed under the leadership of the European Plastics Recyclers Association (EuPR) and the European Association of Plastics Recycling and Recovery Organizations (EPRO). The EuCertPlast certification is intended to guarantee recycling companies' customers a consistently high level of quality and work according to best practices, thus creating security.

EuCertPlast certification focuses in particular on the traceability of the material flow, from the input material through the entire recycling process to the output, as well as the quality of the output material itself.

Advantages of EuCertPlast certified recyclers

In order to obtain EuCertPlast certification, recyclers must meet a series of strict requirements that are carefully checked and evaluated before certification is granted. The requirements are divided into 10 sections.

Companies with EuCertPlast certification can use them to prove that they can guarantee a high level of quality and safety, which enables them to effectively differentiate themselves from their competitors in the eyes of customers.

Contents of a EuCertPlast audit

Section 1 The recycler must provide evidence of all local and international licenses, approvals and certifications required for the activity.
Section 2 The recycler must prove that it has trained personnel, including a management team.
Section 3 The recycler must provide evidence of the traceability of the complete input material (allocation to the respective suppliers).
